Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family parents,
Synodal Assembly on Faith Formation
Last Sunday, members of our parish and school community came together for a deeply meaningful Synodal Assembly focused on Faith Formation. It was a wonderful opportunity for parishioners, students, and parents to engage in open and prayerful conversation, guided by the spirit of listening, discussion, and discernment.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all who gave their time and commitment to this important gathering. Your presence reflected the strength and unity of our community, and your contributions will help guide us as we seek to grow together in faith.
The group explored three powerful questions that invited us to reflect on the life of our parish:
- What do we currently do well to ignite the faith lives of our parishioners?
- What do you see as possible blockages to living the joy of the Gospel in our Parish and how can we begin to break down these impediments?
How can we open our hearts more to the call to be “revolutionaries of tenderness,” both within and outside the Parish, as Pope Francis asked us to be?
These questions challenged us to look deeply at our shared journey of faith – celebrating what we do well, acknowledging the challenges we face, and discerning how we can continue to live out the Gospel with courage, compassion, and joy.
A special thank you goes to Mrs Gray, Mrs Edwards, and Mrs Overton for their ongoing commitment to building strong connections between our parish and school. Their tireless efforts to foster community and deepen relationships are truly appreciated and continue to bear fruit in the life of our parish. Thank you once again to everyone who participated. May we continue to walk together in faith, hope, and love as we listen to the Spirit and grow as a truly synodal Church.
Celebrating Creative Arts – Music Viva
Today, our students from Kindergarten to Year 6 were treated to a truly enriching musical experience with Musica Viva’s "Water Rhythm Tours" performance. The energy, talent, and cultural storytelling brought to life through rhythm, percussion, and movement created an engaging and memorable learning experience for all involved.
We are incredibly grateful to our P&F Committee and our generous parent community for making this opportunity possible. Your continued support of the Creative Arts in our school allows our students to explore new perspectives, develop their creativity, and build an appreciation for the diversity of artistic expression. Opportunities like these are not only fun and educational – they also spark curiosity, imagination, and joy. Thank you for helping to make the arts come alive in such a vibrant and meaningful way for our students.
Colour Fun Run
We are thrilled to announce one of the highlights of our school calendar for 2025 – the Colour Fun Run, proudly supported by our incredible P&F Committee as one of our major fundraising events of the year!
A huge thank you goes to Amanda Hale (mum of Elsey in Year 1) and the dedicated P&F Committee for their hard work and enthusiasm in bringing this exciting event to life. This year, we're looking forward to a new and improved structure that promises fun and energy for every student – from disco moves and tabloid sports to the much-loved Colour Fun Run, and the addition of exciting new inflatables to take the fun to the next level! We have raised $5230.00 so far with 115 students signed up!
Not only is this a day of colour, movement, and community spirit, but it also supports a very worthy cause. Funds raised from this event will go directly towards continuing our commitment to Creative Arts programs for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6. In 2025, this includes Zing Activ dance lessons in Term 3 and inspiring Musica Viva events that spark imagination and creativity.
Thank you in advance to all our families for your support – whether you're volunteering, fundraising, or cheering from the sidelines, your involvement helps us create enriching experiences for every student. Let the countdown begin – we can’t wait to see the fun unfold on Friday 21st November.
We are encouraging all parents and friends of our school community to a fabulous evening of fun, laughter, and friendly competition at our upcoming Trivia Night on Saturday, 1st November!
Proudly organised by our amazing parent community, this event is a great opportunity to connect and enjoy some light-hearted fun together. We’re also excited to share that our staff will be there on the night, so expect some healthy rivalry. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. We can’t wait to see you there!
Kindest regards,
Pauline Dinale - Principal

Children’s Week: 18–26 October 2025
“Everyone should know about Children’s Rights” (UNCRC Article 42)
Children’s Week is a national celebration that highlights the rights of every child and encourages communities to ensure children are seen, heard, and celebrated.
Why is awareness of children’s rights important?
- It empowers children to speak up
- It helps adults make informed, respectful decisions
It creates a culture where children are safe, respected and heard
This year’s theme also supports Child Safe Standard 2:
Children participate in decisions affecting them and are taken seriously.
Let’s work together to make children’s rights known and lived—every day, in every community.
