District & Division Athletics Competitions - Go Beaumaris PS!
In Term 3, students in Years 4-6 had the opportunity to compete at the Bayside District Athletics Carnival. We had amazing results as a school this year, finishing 4th overall and having 19 students win or come runner up in their event, allowing them to progress to the Division event.
Congratulations to Ethan, Olivia, Hannah, Mia, Alice, Saskia, Emily, Alannah, Henri, Daisy, Ellie, Will, Jack, Harry, Alfie, Ned, Bo, Isaac and Toby for their brilliant participation at the Division event.
Next up is the Southern Metropolitan Regional Carnival. We wish the best of luck to Ethan, Alice, Olivia and Hannah who have progressed through to this stage, an amazing achievement.

Book Recommendation:
The First Scientists: Deadly Inventions and Innovations from Australia’s First Peoples
Available to borrow at the Bayside Library!
Discover The First Scientists, an award-winning book by Kamilaroi man Corey Tutt, founder of DeadlyScience. Aimed at readers aged 7–12, this beautifully illustrated book celebrates the incredible scientific knowledge and innovations of Australia’s First Peoples.
Learn how Indigenous Australians used the stars to navigate, predicted seasons through changes in nature, and created ingenious tools, medicines and engineering feats. With artwork by Blak Douglas, each page brings these stories to life, showing that science isn’t just found in labs, but in Country, culture and community.

Corey is a Kamilaroi man from Nowra, NSW, and a STEM champion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. As a young person, he developed a love of STEM subjects but found little encouragement for Aboriginal people to pursue careers in STEM. In 2018, Corey founded DeadlyScience, a not-for-profit organisation that provides STEM resources to remote schools in Australia and connects young Indigenous people with STEM professionals.
Come and Join the Fun - Parents Choir for Carols
We’re hoping to form a Parents Choir for our upcoming Christmas Carols event on Wednesday 10th December, Rockin’ Around Beaumaris! If you love to sing and would like to join in the festive fun, please send your expression of interest to Ms Pholi, via the office (beaumaris.ps@education.vic.gov.au).
Thank you to those who have already notified Ms Pholi of their interest. Please note, the choir will only run if there are enough singers, so don’t be shy, let’s make this a joyful part of our community celebration!

Volunteering at BPS
Beaumaris Primary School highly values our community and the support we receive from parents and carers in many different aspects of school life. We welcome the opportunity for parents and carers to volunteer within our school across a range of different school-based activities.
In previous years, we have held information sessions to provide volunteers with the required information in order to volunteer. This year, we have created a digital Volunteer Handbook and an online induction process to ensure that the information is accessible to parents/carers at a time that suits them.
If you would like to volunteer at Beaumaris Primary School, the process will now be:
- Read the below BPS Volunteer Handbook, which includes the below policies and documents:
- BPS Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy
- BPS Child Safety Code of Conduct Policy
- BPS Child Safety Responding and Reporting Policy
- BPS Volunteers Policy
BPS Volunteer Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Induction Handbook.
Complete this online form, which includes both the Volunteer OHS Induction Checklist and the Volunteering at Beaumaris Primary School Questionnaire (https://forms.office.com/r/X1JfFrAPsa).
Email a scanned copy or provide in person for photocopying a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) card to the office staff.
The above process will need to be completed prior to volunteering at Beaumaris Primary School. This process can be completed at any stage throughout the year, at a time that suits you.
We thank you for your interest in volunteering and supporting our students, staff and school community.
