F-2 Athletics Morning

On Friday 31 October, the students in Fdn - Yr2 will be having a ‘Mini Athletics Morning’ held on the school oval. We will focus on participation and encouraging students to do their very best while enjoying the morning.

The students will participate in a variety of events starting from 9.15am and finishing just before 11.00am. The students will compete in modified running events, hurdles, long jump, shot put and discus.

Please note, there is no ‘winner’ awarded as such, as mentioned above, the focus is purely around participation and enjoying the activities.

We encourage students to wear their house colours on the day

  • Clare- yellow

  • Francis- green

  • Backhaus- blue

  • Mackillop- red

This can include ribbons, face paint, coloured t-shirts etc. The students will participate in their year level.

It would be great to see as many parents there as possible cheering and encouraging the efforts of all students.

We hope it will be a nice day for the event.

We will also have a coffee van for you to enjoy!

Thank you for your support.

Regional Athletics

On Monday 13 October, 32 students competed at the Regional Athletic Championship. I would like to congratulate the students on the commitment they have shown to preparing for these meets. For those that didn’t quite finish in top two positions (and then gain a spot at the State Championship), I want to encourage them to see their result as a credit to the hard work they have put in, had they not, perhaps they may not have made it to the regional level. The best thing about athletics is that it’s the basis of all land sports!

To become a more efficient runner, jumper and thrower, can only ever be of benefit to all other interests and sporting endeavours they have! So, to always look at the time and effort spent as a positive! Nothing is a waste, only an opportunity for growth and development.

Our students continue to impress us with their kindness, sportsmanship, and school spirit. From helping set up around the track and cheering each other on, to standing at the finish line until every competitor had crossed and making way for mums with toddlers and babies in tow- our students continue to make us incredibly proud!

There was also an extra special moment that came to fruition on Monday — Josh Rodda qualified for the State Championships in his third individual event this year: swimming, cross country, and track & field. This is a rare achievement and a true testament to his commitment and dedication. Congratulations, Josh!

We also must note that two records were broken on the day. Lyla - 800m & Milanke - 1500m. Congratulations, girls!

A special thanks to Mrs Flood for her assistance in preparing our students for these meets and thank you to Mrs Zealley & Mrs Bone for attending on the day.

We now have 28 students who have progressed onto the State Championship!! We wish them all the best.

Northern Victoria Showjumping Club

My pony 'Toastie' and I competed in the Northern Victoria Showjumping Club competition. We achieved 5th place in the 60cm category and 7th place in the 70cm category.

We are competing again in November and Toastie and I are doing lots of training to prepare for the next competition. Toastie is 6 years old and she loves lollies. I'm so proud of her jumping.
