Principal News

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Term 4 of 2025! In the last two weeks since school commenced, the College has commenced on a final term of learning and co-curricular arts, wellbeing and sporting activities. Year 12 2025 have been undertaking the HSC, and at this point we are almost at the halfway point. We pray for all Yr 12 students undertaking the HSC that they may be blessed with gifts of wisdom, courage and clarity as they continue to complete their exams over the next two weeks.
The final component of the College student leadership process is complete and we are delighted to congratulate all of the following students, who have been selected to undertake a formal leadership portfolio as College House Leaders or College Prefects in the core areas of Faith, Learning, Care, Service, Stewardship and Creative Arts. These student leaders will formally lead and serve the student community for the next 4 terms along with our College Captains-Zara Guglielmino and William Lancaster and Vice Captains- Anna Ooi and Lua’lufi Filipo.
Commendations to all students who stepped up to nominate themselves for a place! We had an outstanding group of students and the process was highly competitive. The process takes into consideration the voice of peers, students in other year levels and staff. However, there is also a discernment and consideration of a range of evidence from the panel which reviews student aptitude and achievements, previous acts of service, attendance, engagement with studies and meritorious approach to school life in general. Congratulations to:

New Online Laws for Under-16s
From 10 December 2025, new Australian online safety laws will make it illegal for children under 16 to have social-media accounts on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, YouTube and X (formerly Twitter). These laws aim to keep young people safer by limiting exposure to harmful content, data tracking, and online pressure. Children and parents won’t be fined, but platforms can face penalties up to $49.5 million if they don’t follow the rules.
How Parents Can Help
- Talk early – chat with your child about what they enjoy online and what’s changing.
- Download memories – save photos or videos from social-media accounts before December 10.
- Encourage balance – help your child find positive offline activities such as sport, art or family time.
- Model healthy use – show your own balanced device habits.
Group chats (WhatsApp, Messenger Kids, Discord etc.) aren’t covered by the law, but please remind children to:
- Be kind and respectful
- Leave chats that feel unsafe or unkind
- Avoid late-night messaging and set tech-free times
