Principal's Message

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the end of Week 4. We’ve had a huge couple of weeks highlighted by our Mother’s Day breakfast and liturgy last Friday. The turnout was amazing and I’m sure all that were there enjoyed the community spirit. This week our Dance Troupe received a Highly Commended award for their performance at Mt St Joseph and on Tuesday, along with Mrs Miller, I got to watch our cross country team run at Eastern Creek.

Tell Them From Me Survey

Next week we will be inviting students, teachers and parents to provide feedback on their experience of our school using an online survey. The surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process.

We would like to invite you to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and wellbeing at Our Lady Star of the Sea.

The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Being new to our community, I truly value your feedback and strongly encourage as many of you as possible to complete the survey.

Staff Development Days

We have been able to lock in the dates for our remaining Staff Development Days (pupil free) for 2026. These are a combination of System days or our own dedicated days which have been mostly determined by our annual plan and the rollout of the new HSIE and PD/Health syllabuses.

Term 2 Week 7: Monday June 1st - Maths focus

Term 2 Week 11: Friday July 3rd - Staff Spirituality Day

Term 3 Week 1: Monday July 20 - System Mathematics

Term 3 Week 10: Friday September 25 - HSIE syllabus

Term 4 Week 5: Monday November 11 - PD/Health syllabus

Term 4 Week 10: Wednesday December 16 - Collaborative Planning and student data handover.

God Bless,

Mr Marcel Arendse
