Wellbeing

This fortnight at St Margaret Mary’s, our whole school will be focusing on the character strength of Honesty. Honesty means telling the truth and being genuine with ourselves and others. It involves having the courage to admit when we have made a mistake and taking responsibility for our actions. When we are honest, we share what truly happened and express how we really feel, without making excuses or pretending.
Being honest also means showing integrity—being the same person at school, at home, and with friends. It is about making choices that reflect our values, even when it is difficult or when no one is watching.
Honesty helps to build trust and strengthens relationships. It supports a culture of kindness and fairness and it guides us in making positive, responsible decisions. Through practising honesty, we grow into respectful and trustworthy members of our community.
In the Bible, we are reminded:
“The Lord delights in people who are
trustworthy.” — Proverbs 12:22
This scripture highlights the importance of
truthfulness and encourages us to act with
honesty in all that we do.
By living out honesty each day, we continue to nurture a school community grounded in trust, respect and care for one another.
