Principal's Message

A Message from the Principal
Together We Learn, Together We Flourish
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach Mother’s Day, let us take a moment to recognise and give thanks for the incredible women in our lives — our mums and the many mother figures, including teachers, who nurture, guide and love so generously. Whether it is through quiet acts of care, words of encouragement or simply being present, the impact of a mother’s love shapes who our children become.
Mother’s Day is more than a celebration, it is a reminder to pause and appreciate the strength, sacrifice and unwavering support that so many women provide each and every day. We thank you for the countless ways you support your children and our school community — your partnership is deeply valued.
A sincere thank you to all families for supporting our Mother’s Day Stall. It was wonderful to see the excitement and care our students have shown in choosing something special. Thank you, Mrs Belinda Martino for overseeing the setup and selling of the gifts as well as the parents who gave of their time to assist in setting up and selling the goods.
We look forward to welcoming you tomorrow for our Mother’s Day Liturgy and Morning Tea. It will be a lovely opportunity to come together in prayer, gratitude and celebration. Thank you to the teachers on the Mother's day committee, Mrs Diane Antonucci, Mrs Francine Attard, Miss Ana Blazen, Mrs Laure Haider, Miss Pauline McFarlane, Mrs Lucia Puglisi, Mrs Haifa Rizk, Mrs Rachel Salem, Miss Helena Taouk and Mrs Marina Tuma for preparing the beautiful liturgy for tomorrow.
I would also like to extend a special thank you to our Year 3 parents, who have worked so generously to organise this beautiful event for our community. Your time, effort and spirit of service are greatly appreciated.
I would also like to share some wonderful news regarding our Year 3 students and their recent excursion. We received the following message:
“We just wanted to send a big thank you for our recent adventure with you, what a great experience it was! Rangers Ella, Sophie and Sarah returned with very positive feedback about your students and staff.
Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and behaviour really stood out. We thought you’d love to hear how well they represented St Margaret Mary's Primary School, Merrylands.
It’s always a pleasure working with your school, and we truly appreciate you choosing Ranger Jamie Tours. Experiences like this are why we love what we do.”
We are incredibly proud of our Year 3 students for the way they represented our school with such pride. Their enthusiasm for learning and respectful behaviour reflect the great work of their teachers.
Next week, your child’s English and History books will be sent home. This is a valuable opportunity for you to gain insight into their learning. I encourage you to spend time with your child, discussing their work, celebrating their progress and asking questions about what they have been learning in class.
Thank you once again for your continued support. May this Mother’s Day be filled with love, gratitude and special moments with those who mean the most.
Kind regards,
Grace
