2026 Student Attitudes to School Survey
The 2026 Student Attitudes to School Survey will be administered to all government school students in Years 4 to 12 over the next few weeks.
Please see the attached information letter to inform you about the survey and what you need to do if you don’t want your child to participate. Should you wish for your child NOT to participate you will need to advise the school before 9am next Wednesday 20th May.
The survey will provide us with valuable insight into how students feel about their school experience, relationships, learning, and overall wellbeing. It gives students a voice and helps schools to better understand what is working well and where improvements may be needed to support engagement, inclusion, and learning outcomes. It tells us important information about how connected students feel to their school, their sense of safety and belonging, confidence as learners, relationships with peers and teachers, and how supported they feel both socially and emotionally. It also provides feedback about classroom experiences, student motivation, resilience, and school climate.
As a school, this data helps guide future decision-making and planning. It allows us to identify strengths to celebrate, as well as areas where additional support, programs, or changes may be required. The survey results help us reflect on teaching practices, wellbeing supports, student engagement strategies, and school culture to ensure we are creating a positive and inclusive environment for every child.
By listening to student voice, we can work collaboratively with students, staff, and families to continue building a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive. This commitment is reflected in the introduction of our Student Representative Council (SRC) at Balambalam PS. The SRC will provide students with authentic opportunities to share their ideas, perspectives, and feedback about school life. Our SRC will be comprised of two student representatives from each Year 2–6 class, who will be supported and guided by staff members to help strengthen student voice and agency across our school community.
Kids Play Therapy are introducing a new Big Feeling Club for kids aged 5 – 8, starting Thursday 21 May.
Kids Play Therapy offers creative and play-based pediatric therapies in small group for kids that require extra support or are on NDIS plans.
