Official Launch of Our Library
We are very excited to share that on Monday 4th May, we officially launched the Balambalam Primary School Library.
This is a wonderful milestone for our new school community. Our library will be an important space where students can discover new books, build a love of reading, develop curiosity and enjoy time exploring stories, information and ideas.
During library sessions, students will learn how the library is organised, how to borrow and return books, and how to care for books and resources. Our library includes picture books, junior fiction, senior fiction, non-fiction/reference books and a number of cosy areas for students to settling into and enjoy a book.
This term, students will begin borrowing books during their library sessions. Students will borrow one at a time with a loan term of two weeks. Students will need to bring a named book bag on their library day.
The launch of our library is another important step in building a strong reading culture at Balambalam. We look forward to seeing students explore new books, share recommendations, participate in reading events and take pride in this special learning space.
A very special thank you to our community volunteer, Jan Joyce, who has generously volunteered a huge amount of her time to catalogue our books and help set up the library. Her care, organisation and commitment have played an important role in preparing this space for our students.
Thank you also to everyone who has helped prepare our library for launch. We are excited for this space to become a much-loved part of learning at Balambalam.
Warm regards,
Daniel Wragg
