Open Water Experience
On Monday, students in Years 5 and 6 had a great time practising their life-saving skills, during the open-water program with Life Saving Victoria at Noreuil Park in Albury. Here are some photos from the day:
Prep/1 Class with Ellen
Our start to Term 1 has seen our students in Ellen's class exploring the world of STEM. Students have become LEGO Masters, building a LEGO house to fit a tiny teddy. The criteria for their build was:
- to have a door,
- to have a window
- to have a roof
- and something fancy!
Breakfast Club run by The Red Cross
Each Tuesday and Thursday our school offers Breakfast Club. This program is run by our local branch of The Red Cross. Each Tuesday and Thursday morning between 8:30 - 9am students are encouraged to visit our canteen window where they will be met by 2 volunteers who have prepared some breakfast items for them. Menu items will change from week to week.
Kitchen Garden
Each week during Kitchen Garden sessions, Kathryn has 3 different areas of focus for the students. This week the learning focused on:
- Kitchen Skills Focus - grating, juicing and safe knife skills
- Produce Focus - Zucchini and Carrots
- Garden Skills Focus - plant identification and how to net the fruit trees
Those of us who were lucky enough to come to our Welcome Afternoon Tea on Thursday had the opportunity to sample some chocolate and zucchini cake, carrot muffins and lemon cordial all prepared by the students. If you would like to have a go at making them at home, here are the recipes:
Around our gardens you may now notice some signs. Our 3/4 class has made signs to label the produce growing around our school. Very informative!
