Message from the Head of Secondary

Head of Secondary
As we begin this new term, our theme of Renewed has already come to life in so many beautiful ways across our Secondary School. The start of a year always carries a sense of fresh beginnings — a chance to reset, refocus, and recommit ourselves to who God is calling us to be.
It has been such a joy to welcome our new Year 7 students into the Secondary School family. This transition is a big step, and we are so proud of the way they have embraced it with courage, curiosity, and open hearts. New friendships are forming, routines are settling, and it has been wonderful to see them already feeling at home in our community.
Our Year 7 and 8 Camp was a fantastic way to begin the year. There was plenty of adventure, laughter, and challenge, but most importantly, it was a time of connection. Students stepped outside their comfort zones, encouraged one another, and built friendships that will carry through the year. Camps have a special way of strengthening relationships and reminding us that we grow best together.

We were also blessed to hold our Student Leader Induction Ceremony. It was a meaningful occasion as we prayed over and commissioned our leaders for the year ahead. Leadership in a Christian community is about serving others with humility, integrity, and love. We look forward to seeing these students lead faithfully, setting the tone for a culture that reflects Christ in the way we speak, act, and care for one another.
Our Year 9 students are eagerly preparing for their Year of Challenge Camp, centred on Identity in Christ. This is always a significant milestone in their journey. It is a time to reflect deeply, to be stretched, and to consider who they are in Him. We are praying that this camp will be a powerful time of growth and renewal, where each student gains a clearer understanding of their worth, purpose, and identity as children of God.
Meanwhile, our Year 10 students are preparing for the annual mission trip to Queensland to serve in Indigenous communities. This is such a special opportunity for our students to put their faith into action — to serve humbly, listen respectfully, and give generously of themselves. We are already seeing a maturity and sense of responsibility emerging as they prepare their hearts for this experience.
Our Year 11 students have also begun their VCE journey with impressive focus and dedication. VCE brings new challenges and greater responsibility, and it has been encouraging to see them approach this season with determination and a willingness to work hard. They have started strongly, showing maturity in their studies and a renewed commitment to steward their gifts well. We are proud of the way they are setting the tone for the senior years.
It has truly been a positive and uplifting start to the term. As we continue through the weeks ahead, our prayer is that each student would experience renewal — not just academically, but spiritually and personally — that they would be renewed in their thinking, strengthened in their friendships, and grounded in their faith. We are grateful for the way God is already at work in our community and look forward with expectation to all He will continue to do this year.
