Message from the Assistant Principal
Mitch Coombs
As we approach the end of another busy semester, it is wonderful to reflect on the many learning opportunities, achievements and experiences our students have enjoyed over the past few weeks.
Last week was particularly busy across the school. Our Year 3 and 4 students represented the school proudly at Winter Sports, demonstrating excellent teamwork, sportsmanship and perseverance. Of particular note was our student leaders who helped facilitate each event.

The Year 5 and 6 Disco was also a fantastic evening filled with fun, plenty of laughter and a small amount of dancing, while our Year 1 and 2 students enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Kyabram Fauna Park, where they were able to learn more about Australia’s unique wildlife through hands-on experiences.
Our Year 5 and 6 students also participated in the Lions Club public speaking competition, showcasing confidence, preparation and courage as they presented their speeches. It was also heartwarming to see our Prep students visit Warramunda Aged Care, where they brought smiles to residents through conversation, activities and the joy of connecting across generations.

As we move towards the conclusion of Semester 1, our Years 7-12 students completed benchmarking assessments, examinations and other important learning tasks. These assessments provide valuable information about student growth and help us plan effectively for the semester ahead.
We also continue to place a strong emphasis on student wellbeing and safety, including reinforcing important water safety messages as we head into the warmer months later in the year and the importance of ‘upstanding behaviour’ as presented in the ‘Courage to Care’ workshops which have just been completed.
I would also like to warmly welcome our new staff members to our school community. A warm welcome to Vanessa Bush and Ben Deaks who will both be teaching Years 7-12 English and Humanities, while Ella Mathewson will join our amazing LSA team and Ashlee Watson will come in at the start of next term as a P-6 Art and classroom teacher. We are excited to have them join our team and know they will make a positive contribution to the learning and wellbeing of our students.
The end of Semester 1 provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our students and acknowledge the hard work of our staff and families. We look forward to a well-earned break and an exciting start to Semester 2.
A reminder to families that the first day of Term 3 will be a student-free day, as staff have a professional learning day. Students will return to school on the following day (Tuesday 14 July) ready for another great term of learning.
Finally, a reminder regarding course confirmation meetings. Families are only required to attend the school at their scheduled meeting time, rather than waiting throughout the day.
The schedule is as follows:
We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring these meetings run smoothly.
As some advanced notice, please also note that Term 3 Parent/Student/Teacher interviews will take place on Wednesday 5 August 2026 from 11:00 am - 6:30 pm and there will be no classes that day. We look forward to seeing students with their parents/carers at these interviews.
Thank you to our entire school community for your continued support throughout the semester. We wish everyone a safe and relaxing break and look forward to seeing our students return refreshed and ready for Term 3.
