Dear Parents and Carers,

Greetings and welcome to this week’s news. We hope it finds you all well and I hope that all families enjoyed the long weekend!

Over the past 2 weeks I have had the opportunity of watching our children participate in several events; sporting events, assemblies, incursions and excursions. Not only have I been delighted to see the children behaving and competing to the best of their ability but also displaying great manners, sportsmanship and acknowledging the efforts of their opponents.

This too, was commented on by teachers and parents who were in attendance.

“Manners and etiquette for children is ranked as one of the most important qualities to nurture in the family home. Instilling good manners in some children will feel like an almost impossible task. But don't despair, just keep at it. You will be surprised how much your expectation about being well mannered stays with them.

Good Manners are essential for every child's self-confidence and success in life.

In the family home - this is where it starts, where the 'manners seed' is planted and nurtured.”

Well done everyone for being such wonderful ambassadors for our school!

Parent Forum – Tuesday 2nd June 2026

We completed the second of our Parent Forums last Tuesday and have had representation from 35 families over the duration of both meetings. The forums provided a chance for parents to hear about upcoming changes and the thinking behind them. Please find on the following page a summary from the two forums of questions asked in the form of Frequently Asked Questions with responses.

Thank you to all who took the time to attend.

Pupil Free Day – Safeguarding and Wellbeing Framework

Last Friday, our staff came together for a Professional Learning Day focused on Safeguarding and Wellbeing. The day gave us time to revisit our responsibilities, strengthen our shared understanding, and continue building consistent practices across St. Peter’s. We spent time reflecting on how we support students, respond to concerns, and create safe, inclusive classrooms where every child feels known and supported. It was a valuable opportunity to align our approach and ensure we are providing the best possible care for all students.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)

Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. These relate to legislative requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, in line with the NCCD guidelines (2026).

Information provided about students to the Australian Government for the NCCD includes:

  • year of schooling
  • category of disability: physical, cognitive, sensory or social/emotional
  • level of adjustment provided

This information assists schools to:

  • formally recognise the supports and adjustments provided to students with disability in schools
  • consider how they can strengthen the support of students with disability in schools
  • develop shared practices so that they can review their learning programs in order to improve educational outcomes for students with disability.

The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disability.

The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage and disclosure of personal information.

More information about the NCCD will follow in upcoming Newsletters.

Mid-Year Reports

Currently teachers are working hard to moderate their children’s work to ensure that their reports are accurate and up to date with where their learning is positioned. I commend them for the energy, thoroughness, sincerity and professionalism that they bring to their report writing. As communicated to families last week St. Peter’s Primary School continues its firm commitment to working in partnership with parents to enable our children to achieve their best.  In 2026 St. Peter’s will use the (PAM) Parent Access Module for delivering school reports. This online system provides parents with access to a range of information specific to their child including Mid and End of Year Reports.

We are aiming to have the mid-year reports available on PAM by Friday 26th June.

End of Term Arrangements

Please note that school finishes for the term on Friday 26th June at 2:20pm. School resumes for Term 3 on Monday 13th July at 8:55am

Thank you for your continued support. Have a great week!
