The Catholic Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, 12th June. This special feast day honours the immense and unconditional love of Jesus for all people. It reminds us that Christ's love is constant and calls us to respond through kindness, compassion and service to others.
Between 1673 and 1675, St Margaret Mary Alacoque, a nun in the Visitation Convent at Paray-le-Monial in France, received a series of visions of Jesus. In these visions, Jesus revealed his Heart as a symbol of his boundless love for humanity and encouraged people to respond to that love through prayer, faith and devotion.

The image of the Sacred Heart is rich in symbolism. The Heart, often shown surrounded by a crown of thorns, represents both Christ's suffering and his great love for humanity. The flames rising from the Heart symbolise the transforming and life-giving power of his love, while the cross above the Heart reminds us of Jesus' sacrifice for the salvation of the world. The wound in his side recalls the wound inflicted by the Roman soldier at the crucifixion and serves as a reminder of Christ's enduring love and mercy for all people.
Families and parishioners are warmly invited to join us as we celebrate the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus at the 10:00 am Mass on Friday morning.

Thank you for your kind donations to our Vinnies Winter Appeal. Non-perishable food items, toiletries, new blankets, scarves and beanies can still be sent along to school on Friday morning to be included in the presentation to Vinnies at the conclusion of tomorrow’s Mass.

Donations can continue throughout the year, bring them to the front office and we will make sure they are given to Vinnies.
