Duke of Edinburgh Award

Over the past year, 12 students in Years 9 and 10 have been working towards completing their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a globally recognised youth development program that empowers young people to explore their potential, challenge themselves, and contribute to their communities through activities across four sections—Skill, Service, Physical Recreation, and Adventurous Journey—participants build resilience, leadership, and teamwork while discovering new passions.

During semester 2, students participated in the Adventurous Journey section by completing a training day at school, a 17-kilometre day hike on a section of the Hume and Hovel track by Tumbarumba, and an overnight hike at Mt Buffalo. The group explored the environment, navigating challenging trails and experiencing the beauty of nature firsthand. As they tackled the terrain and worked together to stay on course, they demonstrated teamwork, perseverance, and problem-solving.

Congratulations to all participants for embracing the challenge and showing a positive attitude throughout the journey!
