Information for Year 10-12 Students and Families

Welcome Back

The Senior School team are excited to welcome back 169 senior students (year 10, 11 and 12) to the 2025 school year.  We look forward to supporting our students towards a successful year and encourage parents/guardians/carers to support us by ensuring your child is coming to school regularly in correct uniform.  Likewise, we understand that at times students/families endure tough times and we encourage parents/guardians/carers to contact a member of the Senior School team to give us the ‘heads up’ so we can support students where required. Our school is very lucky to have an amazing wellbeing team who are ready to support students if/when required.

Our senior students returned last week with important preparation sessions to set students up for a successful year. It was pleasing to see the buzz of excitement amongst the students and staff alike. We hope this buzz continues and encourage parents/guardians/carers to make contact and/or arrange a meeting if you feel there is something that we can do to support your child better this year.

Important Reminders

A few important reminders for students and parents/guardians alike.

  • The school day now commences at 8.50am and classes concludes at 3.06pm for all students. Please ensure you arrive on time and be prepared for all classes, including a charged laptop.
  • Everyday Matters – 90% attendance is required by all students. IF students are away (or late to school/class parents/guardians/carers must update the Compass system on the day).  Senior school classes move quickly, so missing one day puts extra pressure on your child. If you are thinking of a family holiday during the term, please seek approval from the Senior School team. In the past we have seen midterm family holidays be detrimental to student learning unless missed schoolwork is prepared in advance. This is especially important for students studying a year 12 subject.
  • Check Compass regularly and act promptly in responding to events and absences.
  • Update personal details – if any of your personal, or contact details have changed, please contact the General Office or a Senior School Coordinator to update them.
  • Talk to your child about their schooling. Evidence shows that students are more engaged in education when parents/guardians/carers show interest.
  • Uniform Thank you to parents who have actively supported our school uniform policy. Overall, uniform is looking good in Senior School. Student uniform compliance has been overall really pleasing for senior school students, and we look forward to that continuing to help influence middle school students in a positive way. A few small reminders.
    • black shoes (all black is preferrable)
      • black shorts (school shorts preferred) short black shorts are not considered acceptable
      • no hoodies (hoodies will be confiscated immediately)

If any parents/guardians are having trouble with accessing correct school uniform or have any queries with any of the information above, we encourage you to make contact with one of the Senior School team.

Out and About

  • School Sports It was great seeing so many of our senior students at the sports. A reminder for those who don’t love sport so much – Even though you are not keen to participate, we would love to see you at our next sporting events to help cheer on your teams and provide positive role modelling for the middle school students.

  • Outside School Celebrations | We love to celebrate student achievements; this includes achievements which occur outside the school grounds.  This is an opportunity for students’ parents/guardians/carers to advise us and allow them to be shared. Please contact Nicole to advise (with a picture or two if possible) Nicole.hobson@education.vic.gov.au
