End of Year Reflections

As we near the end of 2024, I would like to take the opportunity to reflect on all of the wonderful initiatives that our Student Ambassadors have been involved in this year to support whole school student wellbeing.

This has included scripting, developing and presenting short movie productions to improve our 2024 Wellbeing & Engagement Collection (WEC) data and supporting to facilitate a weekly Kindness Club. The Kindness Club has been a fresh and dynamic initiative driven by our Student Ambassadors that aims to improve whole school student wellbeing and decrease the number of students feeling sad.

Our movie about the benefits of sleep made a huge impact within our school community in highlighting the importance of sleep and we received positive feedback from other Department for Education staff including Professor Martin Westwell (Chief Executive of the Department for Education) who viewed and enjoyed the movie.

It has been pleasing to see large cohorts of students attending the club each week to participate in various engaging activities all while developing new connections with other students, or strengthening their existing friendships.

I look forward to working with the Student Ambassadors in 2025 to continue to improve our WEC data, which will have a positive impact for all of our students at LNPS.

Another highlight this year included our school being involved in the Student Online Forums, where a group of students at LNPS had the opportunity to speak about the WEC data at a state- wide level to support other schools to understand the purpose of the data and how they can use it at their schools.

Their contributions have been published on the Department for Education's Intranet, so that other schools can access the video and use it at their schools as a resource to support them in using the WEC data effectively.

Lastly, I wish all families a safe and happy summer holiday and hope that you have the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the end of school year break. I look forward to welcoming back all LNPS students in the new year!

All the best for the holidays,

Nagaityalya Nik
