As we approach the halfway point of term, keep an eye out for special activities and events that are coming up. Please make sure you keep up to date with all our platforms, especially COMPASS, Newsletter and the Yearly Planner/Calendar. Our Year 12 Graduation Dinner is this Thursday, kicking off a very busy final month to the school year including more camps and special nights.
We are currently trying to finalise our planning for 2025. If you know that your circumstances may change at the beginning of the school year, please contact the school office or Home-room teacher. Looking forward into 2025, we are aiming to maintain six primary classrooms and more secondary senior years opportunities. We are also introducing some changes for Year 7/8 students. As you may be aware, Victoria is experiencing the biggest teacher shortage in almost 40 years, however, I am confident that we will have a majority of our positions filled within the two weeks. We will keep you informed of staffing, classes and other information for 2025 as the term progresses.
Any interested parents, friends or community members are welcome to come and look at the new school buildings from 3:25 p.m. - 4 p.m on Monday the 18th November. You can look through the new science block, inspect the new College Café deck area and see what a modern school toilet block look like. All welcome.
Enjoy more Year 3 Camp Photos - unfortunately technology and the internet worked against us while we were on camp.
On Monday morning we had several classes attend the local RSL Remembrance day service. A number of students participated in the ceremony by reading poems and laying a wreath. They all did a great job despite the noisy traffic. We would like to thank RSL President Roger Patterson and Wedderburn Korong Vale RSL for allowing us to be part of the Remembrance Day service. Please read 'The Story of Remembrance Day in Australia' attached below. This was read out as part of the service by Dianne Henderson and written by Ric Raftis.

A huge congratulations to Melinda Springthorpe and the Parents Association on a great effort with delivering the 69th annual Mothers Club Concert. It is set up to celebrate in style with the 70th celebration in 2025.
Win a prize by naming the Wedderburn College Cookbook.
'Wedderburnt Cookbook' - surely you can do better than that!
Submit your ideas to the school, be crafty, use your imagination! You never know your name might win!
On the 1st of July 2025 it will be 160 years to the day when a school officially opened in Wedderburn. The 160 Years of Education will be celebrated the last week of Term 2, 2025 with a variety of activities across the week to embrace this monumental occasion. One of the key features of the celebrations will be the launch of a hard cover, 200 page, coffee table recipe & history book. We are now calling on families to submit their favorite recipes or Grandmas greatest hidden secrets to be considered for publication in this important book. Please understand that we are happy to take several recipes from families and community members, however it will not be possible for every recipe to be published. Not everyone will have a recipe published. We have the rest of this term to submit recipes. Please use the format attached to submit your recipes, see below.
