Fleece to Fashion
Congratulations to Déchen Kandro
Congratulations to one of our 2024 Year 12 graduates and former School Captain, Déchen Kandro, who won a prestigious award at the recent 'Fleece to Fashion' Awards.
Déchen had an entry in the school category, comprising a jacket, dress, and bag. This year's theme was 'Upcycled, Recycled, and Repurposed', and her pieces were made from second-hand clothing.
Déchen was awarded the inaugural 'Fostership' - a $5000 scholarship to support school leavers to undertake further study and experience in the fashion industry.
We are all very proud of you, Déchen, and wish every success in your future!
Academy
Academy students have settled well into their new subjects and are working hard. Most Academy students will have assessments in some or all of their subjects due over the next week or two. Students are encouraged to reach out for support if needed in finalising their assessment items. Students are reminded to check their assessment schedules to make sure they know the requirements of submission. Any questions regarding assessments please contact the school.
Academy II students can expect their senior jersey to be available at the beginning of the 2025 school year.
Senior School Year 9
Year 9 continue to impress at the moment. Students are continuing to work hard as we finish off the term. It is important that students continue their mature approach as we count down to the summer break. Year 9 are completing some great projects in their electives and their gingerbread house making and 'butter not chicken' have been highlights over the last week.
