Specialists - Visual Arts (Mrs Bleicher)

Wow! What a week it has been at MRPS!

The response to our first ever Art Show has been amazing and we sincerely thank everyone who visited to view the artworks created by our wonderful young artists. They were thrilled to see so many people attending each of our viewing sessions.

We were very pleased to see our extra viewing sessions, particularly on Sunday afternoon, were extremely popular. We loved that many families visited more than once, with the Glow Gallery certainly being a favourite destination!

A big thank you to everyone who contributed yarn, crocheted or knitted items, finger knitting and pom poms to our 'School and Community Collaborative Art Installation' inspired by yarn bombing. This space was affectionately known as "Granny's Corner" and all students loved working out of this space during their visual arts lessons while the Art Show was on.

Most importantly, I would like to thank our dedicated students, the young artists I am privileged to work with everyday, for working with enthusiasm and determination to make creative, meaningful and personal artworks. Your artworks made our Art Show so special and amazing.

Unfortunately, the show has come to an end and we have packed up today. Students will be bringing home some of their artwork today, with more to follow next week.

Meanwhile, don’t forget to order a copy of our 2024 Yearbook, which will include a special Art Show feature.  Also, check out the photos included in this newsletter.

Thank you to all visitors who took the time to write feedback on a postcard. It was wonderful to read such positive and supportive feedback, which will certainly be shared with our young artists.
