Eucalyptus House

Around two Terms ago, I was sitting in my Digital Technologies class when my HLT came to see me. They wanted to know if I would like to become SRC for the Eucalyptus 7s. I immediately said yes. Joining was one of the best things I ever said yes to. Truthfully, if I could, I would relive it and not change anything that happened.

Throughout the six months I was SRC, I assisted in many fundraising events such as selling noodles or snacks outside Mrs Cameron’s office in Eucalyptus. We did this to assist families who could not afford basic school supplies such as school bags. I also introduced my ideas on creating a more peaceful learning environment within Eucy. The people I worked with were amazing and extremely supportive of my thoughts. From now on, I will always cherish being SRC. I enjoyed being SRC and being brought on to help people in need - you very rarely come across these opportunities.

Because of these opportunities, I learnt many valuable life skills like friendship and teamwork. Most importantly, I learnt that you need to accept failure. You will always make mistakes no matter what happens. Life is not in our control, but we can change our response to what happens.

If you're genuinely reading this, whether you're in Year 7 or 12, never be nervous to take opportunities you are offered. The ability to change even the smallest thing is never impossible if you put your mind to it.
