Sports Update

State Athletics 

On Wednesday the 6th November, Will.H represented Epping Views in the Track and Field State Athletics held at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park. Will participated in the 9/10 year old Long Jump event with 16 of the best student representatives from across the state. Will was excellent in his first round, which resulted in him making it through to the final round of the competition. Congratulations to Will who finished 8th place in Long Jump in the state of Victoria. Well Done Will!!

The Epping Views Boys Tennis team represented the school in the Division Hot Shot Tennis Competition on Monday October 28th. The team played a range of schools from the division at Whittlesea Tennis Club. They had a challenging start against Mill Park Primary though finished the round winning 8 sets to 4. The team then had an outstanding remainder of the day, ending up undefeated in their final two rounds and finishing in first place. Congratulations to Declan, George, Lucas, Victor, Gautham, Adam, David, Will and Ismeal for their outstanding effort and teamwork on the day.    

 

Regional Tennis 

On Friday the 8th of November the boys went off to the Northern Metropolitan Regional Finals where they played the best of the 400 plus Primary schools in the North of Melbourne.

Our boys went into the round robin games in the morning taking on the other schools in Pool A. We won all of our matches 12-0 and went forward to take on the winner of Pool B. 

Epping Views then went on to play Apollo Parkways PS in the Grand Final, winning every game in big one and qualifying for the State Finals!

 

We wish the team all the very best for their next meet, the State Championships which will be held on Tuesday 26th November at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club.
