Holiday Works

The recent term break may have been our busiest yet in terms of improvement works being undertaken on our buildings and grounds. It has been very exciting and pleasing to see many of our major projects be completed for the betterment of the school and all of our students and staff.

These works have included

  • Painting the interior of the Level 2 Building and Rooms 17 - 24. This also included some significant plastering and patching. The end result looks fantastic and the classrooms look bright, fresh and clean. During this year, over half of the school interiors have been painted.
  • Concreting works between the gym, art room and synthetic hard courts. These works have removed significant trip hazards in the area and made this area of the school much more accessible and safe.
  • Landscaping works behind Rooms 17-20. We hope the installation of the path and levelling out the surface will help drainage in this area. We hope to plant out this area to make this entry  to the school much more inviting.
  • Further roof works to the Level 2 Building. New guttering, downpipes and skylight panels were installed in both alcoves outside Room 13 and 15. This has made the entries to these classrooms brighter, drier and safer.
  • Spreading of softfall and mulch through our playgrounds and gardens
  • Synthetic turf repairs to the hardcourts
  • A number of tree stumps were removed

We look forward to continuing our emphasis on school improvement to ensure our facilities are well maintained, safe and welcoming for all of our community members.

Semester 2 Reports

It is a little bit scary that we are already well into our preparation for our end of year (Semester 2) Reports. Semester 2 Reports will be made available to parents via Compass on Friday the 13th of December. Student portfolios will also be sent home this day. As we made significant changes to our reports in Semester 1, the structure and content of the reports for Semester 2 will remain the same however there may be slight formatting changes to assist in making your child's report a user-friendly document.

Air Conditioners - Fundraising Focus

We have recently completed our scheduled maintenance of all of our air conditioners. Our six monthly service and maintenance not only ensures all units are safe and operational but also gives us a report on any units nearing the end of their life.  Through discussions with our PCA, we have decided that a percentage of money raised through fundraising will be used to replace classroom air-conditioners that are identified for replacement by our contractors. We feel that providing a comfortable environment and temperature is important for all students however the replacement of air-conditioning units (especially in a school with approximately 60 split systems) is not funded by our maintenance allowance. Using the fundraising revenue will enable the regular replacement of obsolete units in a sustainable and gradual manner rather than just waiting for old units to break down. Thank you for supporting our fundraising initiatives as it is looking like we will be able to replace 5 classroom air-conditioners in 2024 (2 units already installed mid year).
