Uraidla Show

Didn't we have a wonderful time? I love the way the Uraidla Show brings together the whole community, and allows our students an opportunity to shine! Our students proudly showcased their talents in various competitions, and it was heartwarming to see their hard work and creativity celebrated with lots of ribbons, including a Champion Prize for the Year 2 class Bee Cake (see cover photo)! Congratulations to all of the students who showed bravery to enter, whether they were winners or not.

We were so proud of the students performing on the big truck stage, our Junior Choir, Middle Primary Choir (ably accompanied by our very own guitarist Stephen Tsiaprakas), Festival of Music Choir, School Band and Cara's groups too. It was great to see so many families attend to support their children. What a brilliant way to launch the beginning of the Show !

Our students were also involved in helping to set up and clean up after the Show. The organisers sent along this note of thanks:

Dear Uraidla families and students. Thank you so much for all the entries in the Show on Sunday. We love having everything from Lego and cooking to Art entries. They really make it a proper Show.

Thank you too, to all the students who helped with bottle washing, setting out bins, picking up rubbish as well as other tasks. It makes us proud and happy that the young people of our district are contributing so much to the Show.

Thank you!

A big thanks to Parents and Friends members Kate Griffiths and Liv Moore for organising the candle dipping stall at the Uraidla show; once again it was a huge success! Thanks also goes to Sam Bateman, Anna Price, Caroline Croser, Penny Croser, Jolie Thomas, Lauren Parker, Louise McDonald, Amy Madden, Catherine Simpson, Carla Koay, Nicola Phillips, Emma Schultz, Tory West and Cristina Blefari for their help volunteering on the stall on the day.

Flexible

We continue to explore the concept of flexibility as this term's Learn Stand GIve Fly theme.

Some students have been challenging me to be super flexible and to extend the yard play times! I encourage you to read this persuasive submission 'from the desk of Jemima Staniford'.  I'm ALMOST convinced!  😉

AGM

On Monday, December 2 at 7pm we will be holding our Governing Council Annual General Meeting, where we elect members and office holders for 2025. The Governing Council is a terrific group that advises the school on matters of governance such as finances and policy. We meet twice a school term at 7pm. If you are interested in joining our Governing Council please email me at margie.sarre187@schools.sa.edu.au to let me know before the night so we can be ready to welcome you!

Have a wonderful fortnight! 🙂
