From The Principal
Dear parents, families and friends,
As we end of October and enter into November, we take time to honor and reflect on the significance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, celebrated on November 1 and November 2, respectively.
All Saints' Day is a joyful feast that recognizes all the saints in heaven, both known and unknown. It reminds us of the examples of faith and virtue set by those who have gone before us. We encourage students to learn about different saints and their contributions to our faith and community.
All Souls' Day follows, dedicated to remembering and praying for all the faithful departed. It’s a time for reflection and gratitude for those who have impacted our lives.
On Monday 11th November we will commemorate Remembrance Day when we pray for peace in our world and all those who gave or lost their lives in war. As the year draws to a close, November is the time for us to pause and remember those who are nolonger with us, those who have gone before us, expectedly, unexpectedly and prematurely.
I draw your attention to the letter I sent to all families last Friday. It is attached below just incase you missed the email. I do want to remind all community members of the importance of refraining from and not engaging in gossip, exaggeration, storytelling and rumour spreading. If there are concerns at any point throughout the year, then these need to be raised with the classroom teacher. If the concern is not resolved after this, then it needs to be brought to myself or a school leader. None of the concerns that have surfaced at the moment have been formally reported to me at any point this year.
Christmas Carols 2024
This year we are going to do Christmas Carols a little bit differently. Carols will be held during the afternoon on the last day of Term 4, Tuesday 17th December from about 1.30pm to 3.15pm. At the conclusion of the carols, the students will be dismissed. More information to come shortly.
I hope that you all enjoy the long weekend. Whether you are staying home or getting away, take this opportunity to rest and unwind slightly before we begin the final dash to the finish of the year. If you are going to the races or placing some bets, good luck!
I will leave you with a funny little story. As I was leaving school on Thursday afternoon (Halloween) there were many children and adults walking to the village dressed in their best Halloween costumes. I met a trio of our senior students; one dressed as Freddy Krueger, one dressed as one of Freddy Krueger's victims and one dressed as a giant rooster!!
Kind regards,
Matt
