Basketball
It was a tough day for many SPC basketball teams, with A teams facing St Augustine’s College who are always fierce competition on the court. Despite their hard work and determination, the players struggled to keep up with their opponents, leading to some challenging games. Both teams displayed grit and resilience, pushing through difficult moments, and giving it their all until the final buzzer. Although they didn't come out on top, the teams showed great sportsmanship, spirit, and unity, learning valuable lessons that will undoubtedly fuel their drive-in future matches.
That being said, we did have some successful teams over the weekend. Special congratulations go to our Open C team who despite having a very late change to their game time and location, brought it all together for a big win on the road!
Baseball
This week both SPC Baseball teams were successful for the second week in a row. This demonstrates the hard work and commitment of all involved. Baseball is certainly on the rise at SPC!
Cricket
Another very successful weekend for SPC Cricket, with the First and Second XI taking out huge victories. Shout out to Tom Gorrie from Year 7 who had a very successful weekend for the 14 Gold Cricket team hitting 112 not out when batting, as well as getting five wickets when bowling.
Touch Football
Both the Year 7/8 A and B Touch Football teams had impressive wins, showcasing their skill and teamwork on the field. They played with determination and resilience, earning well-deserved victories. Meanwhile, the Senior A Touch Football team put up a strong fight, coming incredibly close to a win. Despite their best efforts and a close score, they narrowly missed out on victory in the end against a very strong St Augustine’s team. It was a day of mixed outcomes but filled with spirited performances across all teams.
Reminder
Any boy who attends a SPC fixture MUST wear full College Supporters uniform. Any boy who attends a fixture not in Supporters uniform will be asked to leave, with repeat offenders given a detention. We have great colours, wear them loud and proud!

Year 7 EREA Rice Cup
The inaugural Year 7 EREA Rice Cup was a fantastic day for our Football team. Although the boys lost their first game in the pool stage, they bounced back to win the next four matches, including victories over Christian Brothers Lewisham and St Edward’s College, securing second place in the pool.
In the semi-final, we faced the winners of the other pool, St Dominic's College. After trailing 1-0, the boys mounted a strong comeback to win 2-1, earning a spot in the grand final against Waverley College. In the final, the team played exceptionally well, though they couldn’t find the back of the net during regular time. The game was decided by a penalty shootout where St Pat's emerged victorious.
