Michael Bridge
What is your leadership portfolio?
Inclusive Community Prefect.
What are you most excited about in your leadership portfolio?
As someone who has engaged with multiple facets of life at SPC, I am extremely excited to help foster a blended community. My aim is to create a link between differing social, cultural, neurological and economic groups within the College. I was to promote a sense of family between the students which is not hindered by differences, but a point of discussions so we can be grateful for what makes us different and allows us to prosper from that.
What is something about you that others may be surprised to know?
Something surprising about me is that, despite my deep involvement in Music and Performing Arts at the College, I never actually signed myself up for it. I never felt a keen interest in either music or drama, but one day I came home to find I was enrolled in singing lessons, and a few years later I was again surprised to hear I was enrolled in the production. I could not have been more grateful, and I have not looked back since. Best decision anyone has ever made on my behalf.
What would be a good theme song for your life? Why?
Pure Imagination from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I know this is a pick my friends may giggle at, but this song stuck with me ever since I performed it in the school production. One of my core values is creativity, and the message of this song (while not told at face value) is that creativity can set your mind free. It shows how shifting your perspective can foster appreciation for everything you have in your life; and allow you to “view paradise” in the everyday.

What is your leadership portfolio?
This year at St Pat's I am the Sustainability Prefect. I am going to be working very closely with SJAG and looking to review if what we do at the school is sustainable. One of my goals in this position is to raise awareness on issues of sustainability - we need to remember how our actions affect the environment around us! It is my mission to allow us all to work together as a collective and move the school into a greener future and make some visible changes that will improve quality of life at our College.
What are you most excited about in your leadership portfolio?
I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to put forward changes that will benefit the school. There are already ideas brewing. There will also be opportunity for the wider community to get involved. I am also excited to be working with other prefects, teachers and students. The student leaders are really hoping to leave a mark at this school.
What is something about you that others may be surprised to know?
I think many of the boys would be surprised to find out that I only joined the College halfway through Year 10. It is never too late for a fresh start for anybody, and I am glad I have made so many wonderful connections at this school.
What would be a good theme song for your life? Why?
Just Fine by Mary J. Blige is a song about always being confident in yourself and to smile through the difficult times in life. I think it has a great message and reflects my positive attitude that you will always see me carrying except when the bucks lose. It is about staying motivated and keeping your vibe positive at all times.

What is your leadership portfolio?
Social Justice Prefect.
What are you most excited about in your leadership portfolio?
I want to make my final year at the College one to remember. I have been blessed with countless opportunities only available because of the school. With my portfolio I have the chance to serve marginalised groups not just within the school, but in the wider community. I can help provide them with the same opportunities that I have been afforded with. I am very excited to work with SJAG and support past and future initiatives. My aim is to raise awareness about the social justice issues in places not far from the ones we live in and create an environment of equality within the College.
What is something about you that others may be surprised to know?
Despite my Lebanese background, I have part of my (very large) family living in Costa Rica. They migrated there from Lebanon at around the same time my immediate family did.
What would be a good theme song for your life? Why?
'Blinded by your Grace' by Stormzy would be a good theme song for my life. In my life I have an extremely close connection to God, who is at the forefront of my mind in whatever I do. This song is about God being within us even at the darkness of times. In our lives we all go through hardships, and in my life when times get hard, I often pray to God for clarity and perseverance.

What is your leadership portfolio?
Spirituality/Faith Formation Prefect.
What are you most excited about in your leadership portfolio?
Throughout my final year of the College, I am excited to try and enhance the faith life of the College. My aim is to encourage more participation in mass and a willingness to connect with God, through initiatives such reflecting on reconciliation. I would like to work with my peers and teachers to also keep the already existing traditions of the College alive such as the lunch time rosaries and high standards for mass. Faith is the most important aspect of my life, and I would like to share this with as many people as I can as we all go on our own journeys towards salvation and unity with God.
What is something about you that others may be surprised to know?
Something that not everyone knows about me is that I am a twin. I have an amazing twin sister who I cannot imagine my life without.
What would be a good theme song for your life? Why?
A theme song for my life would be It’s My Life by Bon Jovi. This song is all about being true to yourself and making the most of your time on earth, not worrying about what others think. I generally try to live my life the way I want to, not caring about what others think about it. Things such as my strong faith, hobbies and interests stay firm to myself, and I try not to let peer pressure impact my actions.
