Year Five - Spotlight on Learning

Jericho

Dear Families

Welcome to Week Two of Term Four. We had a great week last week getting back into the swing of things with lots of learning and keeping busy. Please remember to keep your child home if they are unwell. We have had a few bugs flying around and we would like to keep the spread very mimimal.

Mathematics:

This week in maths we are reviewing and showing our understanding of division and also learning to solve problems of division using larger numbers. Students should be practising their times tables at home.

English:

We have finished our book and we are starting a new one called 'The Last Bear' by Hannah Gold. We also wrote a persuasive text on 'Why children should be allowed mobile phones'.

Religious Education:

In Religion we are looking at the mission of Jesus and how his mission is linked to the Catholic social teachings. We are also exploring how we can live these ideals in our everyday lives.

SEL:

In social and emotional learning we are looking at emotions and we will be watching 'Inside Out 2'.

Integrated Studies:

We are continuing to learn skills for our end of year performance. This week we are looking at fractured fairy tales and we will be practising to read aloud with expression.
