Year Four - Spotlight on Learning
Bethany
Dear Parents,
The students have settled back in to daily routines in the Bethany Community during week two, completing grammar, vocabulary and writing tasks related to our novel "The Wild Robot". In Maths we have continued to work on multiplication and division. Our Religion focus has been "What is Mission?" Our students studied the Elements of Dance and used their puppets to present a short dance presentation. For Respectful Relationships we discussed how people can show respect to others in different situations.
Religious Education focus: The students have raised funds to help children in India. This week they will read about the missionary that helps the children, and how this service reflects the Catholic Social Teaching principle of the "Dignity of the Human Person".
Mathematics focus: The students will collect data by conducting a survey, and present this data in graphs and displays. They will analyse the data, interpret it and discuss their findings.
English focus: This week students will continue to read our class novel “The Wild Robot” and discover how successful Roz is as a mother of a gosling. Also, they will complete grammar, vocabulary and writing tasks related to the text.
Social/ Emotional Learning & RRRR: Students identify actions that they can take to build respectful gender-friendly relationships in different parts of their lives.
Auslan: This week students will be learning the signs for farm animals E.g. cow, horse and sheep.
