Leadership Communication
Dear Families,
Student Outcomes - NAPLAN
In Term 3, schools received an indication of how their students performed in NAPLAN when compared with the State and National averages. Previous results were school specific and these were provided to families individually for students in Years 3 and 5.
Student achievement is shown against 4 levels of proficiency:
- Exceeding: the student’s result exceeds expectations at the time of testing.
- Strong: the student’s result meets challenging but reasonable expectations at the time of testing.
- Developing: the student’s result indicates that they are working towards expectations at the time of testing.
- Needs additional support: the student’s result indicates that they are not achieving the learning outcomes expected at the time of testing. They are likely to need additional support to progress satisfactorily.
The outcomes for our Year 3 students are below compared with the State and the Nation.
Our school is the orange chart, the state is the green chart and the nation is the blue chart.
The outcomes for our Year 5 students are below compared with the State and the Nation.
There is much to celebrate in these results and our students and staff can be very proud of what they have achieved. Our teachers consistently demonstrate dedication, commitment, and passion in providing the best learning outcomes for our students.
Progress in Learning
This term, our focus will be on assessing student progress and using this information to inform teaching for the remainder of the year.
During the term, students will engage in a range of assessments that will help us better understand their learning growth and identify areas where they may need further support. These assessments allow us to evaluate the impact of our teaching practices and ensure that we are meeting each student's needs.
With the information we gather, we’ll be able to provide targeted teaching to support all students ongoing success. We are committed to supporting every child in their learning journey, and we look forward to working closely with them during this final term of the academic year.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
