From the Year 6 Classroom
In Literacy, the students are moving towards the end of their Author Study unit on Tristan Bancks. The students take inspiration from his craft, tips and tricks and recreate this in their own fictional writing.
Year 6 are well on their way with term 4 Book clubs, reading from a collection of Tristan’s work. Titles include Scar Town, Two Wolves, The Fall and Detention.
In Numeracy, the students have started a unit on Algebra, where they describe, continue and create patterns with fractions, decimals and whole numbers resulting from addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
In other news, we had five students compete at the State Athletics yesterday. We would like to congratulate Amelie Coll, Siena Gallegher, Summer New, Ruby Phillips and Lyla Payne on the way in which they represented the school, they should be very proud of their efforts.
We are less than a week away from our Year Six Excursion to Melbourne. The students are looking forward to the experience and enjoying all that the city has to offer.
Please note due to unavailability, the previously advertised Year 6 EOY Windsurfing Excursion has been replace with Bounce Wodonga with a date change also. The EOY Excursion is Friday 13th December.
