Happy Diwali!

Diwali is the most important festival of the year in India and for Hindus, Sikhs and Jains. It is celebrated across faiths. Over five days, people are taking part in fireworks displays, feasts and prayer.

It is known as the 'Festival of Lights'. Light overcoming darkness - often a representation of hope and the victory of goodness. This is similar to the idea at Easter time for Catholics.  

Next Community Mass

Our next school Mass will be in Week 6, Wednesday 13th November. Damascus Community (Year 2) will celebrate the Mass with the theme 'Peace I Leave With You'.

Each weekday Mass at the St Thomas the Apostle Church begins at 9:30am and we are encouraging parents and friends who come to the Mass to stick around for a cuppa afterward. There will be a demonstration of an Australian cultural favourite, 'The Tim Tam Slam' for those that don't know how this works.
