Year Four - Spotlight on Learning

Dear Parents,

This week the children participated in a Kids ROAR session. The children were engaged and learnt how to keep our body safe. We learnt that it is important to not keep secrets and to talk with our Trusted Adults.

The program aims to empower children building resilience, self-esteem, communication, social skills and other life skills. It also helps to prevent abuse, reduce violence and promote positive health and wellbeing.

Our Learning Focus. . .

Religious Education focus:  Students will be continuing to explore the meaning of mission and how this relates to the scripture for our Mass in a few weeks.

Mathematics focus: Students will be working on describing possible everyday events and the possible outcomes of chance experiments and order outcomes or events based on their likelihood of occurring; identify independent or dependent events. They will also be completing some end of year assessments.

English focus: This week students will continue to read our class novel “The Wild Robot”. Students are writing persuasive letters of how a robot could be useful at home or school. They will also be completing some end of year assessments.

Social/ Emotional Learning & RRRR: Students will be demonstrating how they can show respect to others by writing a story based on a scenario.

Auslan: Students will be depicting and enacting the movements of different zoo animals.
