What's On In Foundation
Foundation students were ‘swimming’ with excitement as we climbed aboard the bus for the Melbourne Sea Life Aquarium on Wednesday 16th October. We have loved beginning to explore all things ‘Under the Sea’ for our Term 4 Integrated unit. We have been astounded by the amount of knowledge our students have shared about different ocean animals, their habitats and interesting ‘ocean’ facts.
A favourite was exploring the large ocean animals in the glass tunnel, seeing glow in the dark jellyfish, and ofcourse meeting Pesto the giant baby penguin. We were lucky to be able to visit the touch pool where we could hold shark eggs and shells. Some students even touched a starfish!
We learned all about sharks, penguins, jellyfish and clown fish, looking closely at their habitats and being mesmerised by their movements.
It was incredible learning about the ocean animals, how we can look after them and what they need in their habitats to survive. We can’t wait to use this knowledge to explore ocean animals further in the classroom.
