What's On In 1/2

Celebrating our successes!

We are incredibly proud of our students and all their endeavours outside of school! We’re thrilled to share that two of our Grade 1 girls participated in a ‘mini’ marathon, achieving great heights.

Additionally, we are proud of Aiden, who represented Australia in the World Speed Skating Competition in Italy over the holidays. He showed remarkable courage by competing against 17-year-old skaters from around the world.

What fabulous students we have! We are excited to celebrate their many adventures and achievements.

Term 4: Claire Saxby Visit

Students and teachers were excited in anticipation of the visit from the great author Claire Saxby. We have been studying her books, stories and characters and then the students completed some magical and expressive pieces of writing in her honour. Some of the books included The Great White Shark, Kookaburra, Iceberg, Tree, Sir Weary Dunlop and we are very much looking forward to her new title about the Thorny Devil.

Footy Day

Students were all decked out in their footy colours ready to enjoy the last day of term. They were treated to a fun footy clinic by the Mitcham Football Club where they tried out their ball handling skills! They kicked goals, hand past and even high fived the club’s mascot! For lunch, they were lucky enough to indulged in a delicious hot dog arranged by our lovely parent group, thank you so much!

Term 3: Grade 2 Sleepover

The students enjoyed a camp like experience here at school. They came dressed in PJs, with an abundance of enthusiasm for the night ahead. Beds were set up, mattresses blown up, pillows fluffed and students at the ready to have a great night. Some sleep was had, pizza and snacks were eaten and lots of chatter and laughs shared.

Teacher/Student Swap Day

The JSC planned a special day featuring a Teacher/Student swap! Everyone had a great time as teachers relived their youth and students took the opportunity to impersonate their favourite teachers!
