Craft
While I was away on my long service leave having a fabulous time in Europe, I was so pleased to know that the students were looked after by an amazing team of replacement teachers. A big thank you to Josh, who did an incredible job keeping the kids engaged and working on the craft projects that I had left.
I would also like to thank our special helpers in the art room who have supported students during craft. Third year student Mia has been a fantastic support to students this term. Mandy - Griffin's Nan, has been coming all year to support students in their various craft projects. Mel - Tala’s mum, has been coming in regularly to help as well. Thank you, your support is very much appreciated!
Students in classes three to six are continuing to work through their various knitting projects started in term three. Students in Prep have completed their hessian bags and are learning how to use the Knitting Nancy that we made in our craft class. Students in Lucy’s grade are finishing off the final details of their recorder bags and some have even begun to learn knitting. Class 2/3 students have completed their sunray cushions and are beginning their knitting projects with great enthusiasm.
Students have also spent a few sessions painting their clay works from earlier in the year and these are going to look spectacular at our Art/Craft/Music Expo! Watch out for the date, still to be finalised, but will be later on in the term.
Class six students have completed their clay community tiles and are now working on their graduation toys, adding clothing, beading, buttons and other embellishments.
To support student learning, parents are invited to help in the art room. You will need a current working with children check. Please sign in at the office before you come to the art room.
