Art
While I was away on my long service leave having a fabulous time in Europe, I was so pleased to know that the students were looked after by an amazing team of replacement teachers. A big thank you to Josh, Jo Missen and Kirsten, who did an incredible job keeping the kids engaged and working on the craft projects that I had left.
Students spent the start of this term completing their various craft projects and these are looking amazing! They also painted their clay works and some classes are presenting their clay sculptures on timber bases which makes them look very professional!
Grade six students are also working on their graduation toys, designing clothing, adding other details such as beading, buttons and even painting them.
We have now started work on our term four feature artist Sally Morgan. Sally Morgan is a celebrated book author, illustrator and indigenous artist. We have many of her books in our school library, so the students are very familiar with her art. Her work will inspire students to create colourful landscapes focusing on colour and line patterns. Students have completed sketches based around our school garden and they will develop these into larger paintings and prints.
Later this term we will be having another Music/Art/Craft Expo, so stay tuned for the date soon to be finalised!
To support student learning, parents are invited to help in the art room. You will need a current working with children check. Please sign in at the office before you come to the art room.
