House Culture

Houses

Cranbourne East Secondary College features five houses, each named after prominent Australian scholars who have made significant contributions to society. Being part of a house fosters a strong sense of belonging, offering students numerous opportunities to connect with peers from various classes and year levels, helping to create a more unified school community. Throughout the year, students accumulate RGAR House points by exemplifying the college's values, both in the classroom, across the campus, and within the broader community. On enrolment, each student is placed into one of the houses below, and will remain in that house until they exit the school.

Each house has two captains, as well as:

  • 2 Arts & Clubs captains
  • 2 Community & Leadership captains
  • 2 Sports & Recreation captains

The House captains from each hose can be seen here. we will introduce more house captains in the next installment of the newsletter

Deakin wins the Cranbourne East Athletics Day!

Congratulations to Deakin for winning the trophy for our Athletics Day that was held on Thursday 20th of February. The points were close all day, with Deakin edging out Chisholm by four points. To put that in context 2 points are awarded to anyone who attempts a track or field event.

House/RGAR Points

Alongside taking out the School Athletics Day, Deakin is currently in the lead for House/RGAR points. It is still early days and all students would be looking to increase their house totals by positively engaging with the school both inside and outside of the classroom.
