Year 11
The beginning of the school year has been filled with wonderful opportunities for our students to connect and grow as they have explored the Victorian Certificate of Education General (VCE – General), Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major (VCE-VM) or Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC), gaining insights into its structure and benefits.
Students have been getting to know their teachers/trainers, fostering strong relationships that enhance their learning experience. They've also been building friendships and working together with their peers, creating a supportive classroom environment.
Year 11 VCE
Within VCE, students have been working hard towards meeting outcomes. To best prepare for these, student had the opportunity to engage in an incursion known as ‘study sensei’. The session focused developing good study habits, strategies to improve the retention of information, the importance of a study plan and the importance of prioritising their mental health and wellbeing. The session was incredibly well received by students, and we look forward to welcoming elevate back later in the year for two further incursions that will benefit our cohort.
Year 11 VCE VM & VPC
In VCE-VM and VPC, students are learning through a ‘hands on’ approach, not only gaining essential life knowledge and skills in their Literacy, Numeracy, Personal Development and Work-Related Skills classes, but also actively working towards their career goals and aspirations. This includes completing a Vocational Education and Training (VET) course to gain vital industry knowledge and skills.
Year 12
We have been back at school for five weeks now and is has been a busy start to the year for our Year 12 students. Beginning with first day events including goal setting activities, following on with students either attending the year 12 camp to Camp Manyung in Mount Eliza or Holey-Moley in Frankston with onsite school activities including volleyball and Karaoke, then into the city to attend a whole day event at RMIT with the support of our careers and wellbeing teams. Then it was back to teaching and learning, coursework, and SAC completion. It was fantastic seeing our year 12s challenge themselves to new experiences, make new friends and look so relaxed and happy, as well as getting to know their peers and their teachers. The highlight of these experiences was the REACH foundation presentation, where students let their guards down and had some open and honest conversations about the importance of supporting each other through their final year of schooling. Although completing year 12 can be quite stressful, we are very proud of them for undertaking this challenge and are really excited to be sharing this exciting journey with them! Please enjoy some of the following highlights from their adventures.

Year 12 VCE VM & VPC
Alongside the excitement at the beginning of this year following camp and excursions, our Year 12 VCE VM & VPC students have had a productive start to the year, adapting well to the new timetable structure and making the most of their Structured Applied Learning (SAL) time. This dedicated time supports students in completing independent study, managing their coursework, and strengthening self-directed learning skills—all of which are essential for their academic success and future pathways. Their commitment to taking ownership of their learning is commendable, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth throughout the year.
It has been wonderful to see the students moving around the college in their new Year 12 jackets, a symbol of their leadership, dedication, and final year of schooling. Wearing them with pride, they represent not only their hard work and commitment but also the strong sense of camaraderie and school spirit within the cohort.
As they continue to navigate their final year, we encourage them to embrace every opportunity, support one another, and make the most of their time at the college. We are incredibly proud of their positive attitude, resilience, and determination, and we look forward to celebrating their many accomplishments throughout the year.
