Meet our Student Leaders for 2025
Over the past couple of weeks, Year 6 students interested in applying for positions of Student Leadership were asked to complete and submit a written application addressing specific criteria. Students who applied for a position had the opportunity to present themselves and what they had to offer through our interview process by delivering a short presentation to their peers and select staff.
I must commend every single student who took the time to compose their application and present themselves to their peers... it takes courage to 'put yourself out there.'
Choosing our leaders is probably one of the hardest jobs we have each year as each child has a case for selection and disappointment for some is inevitable. Positions are appointed based on the skills and attributes candidates can bring to the position at this point in time. We applaud all students who applied and congratulate those who were selected, so let's meet them-
STUDENT LEADERS -Evelyn & Jax
Evelyn
My name is Evelyn, I am a Year Six Student Leader and I am really looking forward to meeting and helping more students. I love learning about astronomy and being active. I don't eat much broccoli even though I should. I am very excited to start this year and I am hoping I can help this school improve.
Jax
Hello my name is Jax and I am excited to announce that I will be one of your school leaders for 2025. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a leader and to be able to represent this school. I am excited to hear from my fellow classmates and leaders about how they think they can make a positive impact on this school. I believe that everyone should be treated the same as everyone else no matter who they are. I can't wait to make a positive impact and to make everyone want to come to school and learn each day.
I have been a senior buddy for 2 years now and I enjoy it so much to see them smiling after recess and lunch each day. I love basketball and spending time with my family.
Lastly, I would love to congratulate everyone who applied for any of the three roles, they did amazing speeches and it would have been a hard decision for the teachers to make. I just wanted to say it's not easy to put yourself out there and it takes some bravery.
SOCIAL JUSTICE LEADERS - Holliday & Ben

Ben
Hi, my name is Ben and I have been elected as the 2025 Social Justice Leader for Corpus Christi Kingsville. I am so grateful to have been given this position and the opportunity to help those around me.
For those of you who don’t know me, I love sports - especially basketball. I’ve been playing for a couple of years now. I also love hanging out with my friends and family.
I am so excited to take up this role and help with raising money for those in need and to be able to organise and run fundraisers and collect donations, as well as other charitable events within our school community. I am also proud to be a role model for younger year levels as I remember looking up to School Leaders when I was younger.
I look forward to working with the Student Leadership team and organising some great events for the Corpus Christi community in 2025.
SPORTS LEADERS - Oscar & Eva

Eva
My name is Eva Fleet and I have been elected as your school Sports Leader of 2025. I am kind, respectful and a motivated person who is excited to take on this role. I have had two years experience as an SRC representative and have taken part in interschool sports in basketball and mixed netball, where I helped in taking our mixed netball team into the Metro competition.
I have also played domestic basketball for 5 years and have successfully made the local representative basketball team in the last 3 years. I love all sports and am passionate about learning.
As sports captain, I look forward to helping lead the school during school sports days and activities. I am approachable and I hope all the students at Corpus Christi will feel like they can come to me with any issues they might have. I will be working with Mr Palanca and my peers to make sure sports activities at school run smoothly and will always be ready to encourage our students and be a voice for them. Please feel free to come speak to me anytime. I am excited to take on this role and I am grateful to lead our school.
Information and Communication Technology Student Access Agreement
In line with our focus on promoting responsible and safe behaviours when using digital technology, in the coming days your child will bring home our Information and Communication Technology Student Access Agreement form. This form is updated and handed out each year as a reminder of how we ensure we use digital technology across our school.
The form outlines our school’s current digital platforms and how these are best used to maximize our student’s education. It covers the school’s digital tools and computer network, how to be cybersafe and the consequences of misuse.
In order to ensure we maximize learning while maintaining safety online, it is important that parents read and discuss the policy. The agreement is to be signed by both parent and child and returned to the classroom teacher.
Attached is a copy of the Information and Communication Technology Student Access Agreement for your reference.
Cyber Safety Project
Next Tuesday 18th February, the Cyber Safety Project will visit and educate the students of Corpus Christi. The aim of the Cyber Safety Project is to enable teachers, parents and families to ensure children can participate safely in the digital world.
As in the past, the Cyber Safety Project will run a session on all things Cyber Safety with each year level throughout the day.
In the evening, we will host our Chromebook Information Evening.
Year 3 students and their parents will attend our Chromebook Information Evening where the children will receive their new Chromebooks!
We will also provide details of the Chromebook Program, as well as allow time for any questions that may arise.
At the end of the session, each student, along with their parent/guardian in attendance must sign off on a Chromebook Agreement before the Chromebook is received.
We are looking forward to working with Cyber Safety Project once again this year.
Headphones
Can we please ask all families to ensure their child/ren brings a pair of headphones or earphones to school that can be left in their tub to use with their Chromebook or iPad when required? This allows children to listen to audio without disturbing the rest of the class.
Sharing of Food
It is important to remind all children and families that at no time should children be sharing food with other children during eating times. We have several children with food allergies so, for the safety of all, we ask all families to reiterate the importance, with their children, of not sharing food with others.
Throughout the year, children may bring lolly bags to school to share with their classmates to celebrate their birthdays; however, we ask that these be distributed by the class teacher at home time and are only eaten with the permission of parents. Children with allergies are requested to bring along a 'treat box' to assist with such times.
Please do not bring cakes or biscuits to school.
Book Club
We may have been a little rushed in getting Issue 1 of Book Club out to families so we can extend the final day for orders until 9:00am Monday 17th February. Orders are made online by following the prompts.
Lunch Orders
Lunch Orders through Classroom Cuisine operate every Monday and orders are placed online at https://classroomcuisine.com.au/
Our Lunch Orders service (through Roberts Street Milkbar) runs every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. A price list can be accssed via our website.
As per tradition, orders are to be written on a paper bag with (preferably) correct money sealed inside.
Children will place these into their class lunch order basket on arrival to school.
Absences
Please note that it is a requirement that parents notify the school (preferably in writing) of all instances when their child may be absent for all or part of a day. This can be done by emailing (or writing to) your child's teacher or contacting the school office.
When notifying, please notify us of absences prior to 9:00 am and remember to include the reason.
Even simpler, absences can be reported via our school app.
School Closure Day
Please note our upcoming School Closure Day:
- Friday 7th March - School Closure Day: - Staff Professional Learning Day: Enhancing Catholic Identity through Scripture
Students do NOT attend school on this day
School App
A reminder to everyone to download our school app!
As well as Absentee Notifications, Communications, Calendar, and general updates, are all available via the app so it's definitely a 'must-have'.
Simply visit Google Play or the App Store and search for our school name.
Have a wonderful week
God bless
Anthony Hyde
