Principal's  Report

Dear Parents and Friends of DPS,

I have had a fantastic week at Doncaster Primary School, meeting lots of new faces and gaining great insight into what makes this school such a special place.  Both Julia Bay and Niky Corfios, Assistant Principals, along with all other staff have been incredible in bringing me up to speed with the school’s priorities and continued focus on having high expectations for all learners whilst providing such a caring and supportive space for our students.

When walking around the school I note how settled all students are and focused on their learning. The staff at DPS are working hard to provide a rich learning environment for all students.

To our Prep parents, congratulations on helping your children settle so quickly into school routine. Having visited the students last week, it is clear they are ready for learning and experiencing all that school has to offer.

On Wednesday 19 February the Parents and Friends Group met to discuss upcoming events. It was wonderful to see so many parents in attendance and to start planning some special events for 2025.

Yesterday, Nicky, Julia and myself attended the Inner East Principal Forum where we were provided with updates to key priorities in education. Information we will be bringing back to staff to continue to build best practice in teaching and learning.

I look forward to getting to know the community over the coming weeks.

Determination      Pride     Success

Acting Principal
