EAL

At Doncaster Primary School, we provide English as an Additional Language (EAL) support to students who are new to the Australian school system and need assistance with language development.

This year the EAL students have commenced EAL lessons with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of determination. It has been a joy getting to know each of them and witnessing their growing confidence as they practice speaking English and share their first languages.

The term began with speaking and writing assessments, where students showcased their understanding of nouns and verbal sentence construction. Their writing abilities are continuously assessed to gauge their progress.

So far, we’ve explored a range of topics including hobbies, family, food, school routines, weekend recounts, and even tongue twisters to support pronunciation improvement.

I am looking forward to watching their improvement and supporting their English language development.
