CALENDAR OF EVENTS - STUDENT LEADERSHIP EVENTS - TERM 1

We are delighted to announce the leadership initiatives for the upcoming term as decided by our student leaders. These initiatives have been crafted by representatives from various student bodies, including the Representatives of Student Wellbeing, the Sustainability Team, and the Student Representative Council.

CELEBRATING HARMONY DAY AT RPS

At Ripponlea Primary School, we are excited to celebrate Harmony Day with a special community event led by our Student Representative Council (SRC) and Student Wellbeing Team. This day is an opportunity to embrace and celebrate the diversity that makes our school such a vibrant and inclusive place.

What is Harmony Day?

Harmony Day, held on March 21, is a time to reflect on the importance of respect, inclusivity, and belonging in our multicultural society. It aligns with the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, reinforcing the message that everyone belongs. The day celebrates our cultural diversity and highlights the importance of unity and understanding within our community.

How We Are Celebrating

To mark this special occasion, students are encouraged to come dressed in orange, the official color of Harmony Day, or in traditional clothing that represents their cultural heritage. This is a wonderful way for our students to share and take pride in their backgrounds while learning about the rich traditions of their classmates.

Our SRC and Student Wellbeing Team are planning engaging activities and opportunities for students to connect with one another, fostering a sense of harmony and respect for all cultures. Parents and families are also invited to join in and celebrate this important day with us.

Harmony Day is a reminder that diversity is our strength, and together, we can continue to build a welcoming and inclusive school community where everyone belongs. We look forward to celebrating this meaningful day with our students, staff, and families!

Celebrate World Wildlife Day with Our Student Sustainability Team!

On March 3rd, the world comes together to celebrate World Wildlife Day, raising awareness about the importance of protecting our planet’s incredible biodiversity. This day reminds us of the urgent need to care for endangered species and their habitats to ensure a sustainable future for all living creatures.

The theme for 2025 is "Connecting People and Planet: Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Conservation." This theme encourages us to think about how technology and digital tools can support conservation efforts and protect wildlife.

To mark this special occasion, our Student Sustainability Team has planned an exciting activity! Because Monday is Photo Day, we will be celebrating on Tuesday, March 4th instead.

📸 What to Wear: Show your love for wildlife by wearing an accessory featuring your favourite animal! This could be socks, a hair tie, a tie, a scarf, a hat—anything that represents an animal you admire.

💰 Gold Coin Donation: Bring a gold coin donation to help support an endangered species. Every contribution will go toward vital conservation efforts, making a real difference in protecting wildlife.

Let’s come together to celebrate and protect the amazing creatures we share our planet with! 🌏💚
