Welcome to Music at VUSC for 2025!  

Instrumental Lessons

If you have enrolled your child to take part in instrumental lessons, your child will be able to find their lesson on their Compass timetable. Voice lessons will start in the coming weeks. Lessons will be uploaded at least 3 days before your child's lesson day. We still have some places available for lessons in Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano and Percussion. Interested students should ask for an enrolment form from either the general office or the Band Room.

Classroom Teachers for 2025 are as follows:

Robert Breen: Head of Music, Year 7-9 Bands, Low Brass,  Stage Band, Honours Band

Liam Krebs:  Year 10 General & Deep Learning Music, VCE Year 11 & 12, Contemporary & Repertoire

Ken Gerard: Year 7 to 9 Contemporary Classroom Music

The VUSC Honours Concert Band is competing at the Australian Band Championships on Easter Saturday 19th April in Kew. Further details will be provided closer to the date.

The Band brings together the best 50 woodwind, brass and percussion players from Year 8 to 12. The students have been rehearsing every Tuesday from 7.55am and will have further rehearsals during the school holidays to prepare their four works for the competition - a test piece, Major Work, March and Hymn. This is a wonderful opportunity for our most dedicated students to work towards an exciting and challenging goal and to start Term 2 playing at a very high level.

Thursday 17th 1pm to 4pm

Extracurricular Music Opportunities at VUSC 

We have many wonderful opportunities for students to take part in extracurricular music ensembles at VUSC. We encourage students who wish to sing in one of the choirs or play guitar or drums in one of the Jazz or Rock Bands to please get in touch with Mr Breen.
