Message from the Principal

Dear families

I hope you were able to spend quality time with your family on the long weekend. I am excited to share some important updates and events happening at our school in the coming weeks.

Meadowbank Spelling Bee finals this week

Tomorrow, selected students from Stage 2 and Stage 3 will compete in the highly anticipated Meadowbank Spelling Bee finals! Winners will be announced as the school representatives for the regional Spelling Bee. Junior finals will commence at 9 am. Senior finals will commence at 10 am. We encourage everyone to support our talented spellers as they showcase their skills and hard work. Good luck to all participants.

Principal's Morning Tea

This week is our first Principal's Morning Tea for the year. This event is to celebrate students who have achieved a Principal’s Award (after collecting 5 Gold Star awards). This event will be a wonderful opportunity to recognise and honour their hard work and dedication as part of our school’s Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). PBL is a framework used in schools to promote positive behaviour and improve student outcomes. It is based on the principles of positive reinforcement and focuses on creating a supportive school environment. I look forward to celebrating our outstanding students with their families.

Semester One Academic Reports

Teachers are currently finalising assessments and writing Semester One reports in a new format provided by the NSW Department of Education. These reports will provide valuable insights into your child's progress and achievements this term. Reports will be available on Sentral at the end of the term. Join us on Thursday 19 June at 9 am in the school hall for an information session on the new report format.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

Parents will be invited to attend parent-teacher interviews to discuss their child's report in early Term 3. This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with teachers and gain a deeper understanding of your child's learning progress. We will be providing details on scheduling these interviews in the next few weeks.

Public Education Week – Ignite Your Potential

Mark your calendars! Public Education Week will take place in Week 1 of next term. We will hold an open day on Thursday 24 July for families to visit the school and see their child's classroom. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with teachers and experience the vibrant learning environment at our school.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Please remember to check the Sentral calendar and this newsletter for information on upcoming events.
