Literacy Enrichment

On the 24th of June, a small number Year 5/6 students attended an online literacy enrichment program, run by award winning author of: Sunday Skating and Jetti Jumping, Andrea Rowe.  The selected students were Norah, Stella, Oscar, Matt, Heidi, Viv E and Vito. In the program they learnt how to create stories using their senses and how to show, not tell. It was a very interesting and enjoyable experience.

Grade 5/6 Earn and Learn Gives Back – Almost $5,000 Donated

We’re thrilled to share the success of this year’s Grade 5/6 Earn and Learn program – a hands-on learning experience where students created, marketed, and ran their own small businesses over the past term.

Thanks to the amazing support of our school community, the students raised nearly $5,000 in profits!

After thoughtful reflection and discussion, they made the powerful decision to donate their earnings to Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre (CNLC) – a local organisation that supports vulnerable people through education, community programs, and inclusive services.

This act of generosity shows just how capable, compassionate and socially aware our students are.

We are so proud of what they’ve achieved – not just financially, but in terms of teamwork, planning, problem-solving and giving back. And we’re equally appreciative to the families, staff and wider school community who supported the program in so many ways.

Thank you for helping to make Earn and Learn such a meaningful and memorable experience.

Warm regards, The Grade 5/6 Team.
