Inquiry Centre

Highlight

Selamat Siang,

It’s been a fun and busy week of learning in the Inquiry Centre!

In Maths, we explored fractions, learning how to identify and represent halves, quarters and eighths in a range of ways. Students enjoyed using hands-on materials to show their understanding.

In Writing, we focused on conjunctions and compound sentences, learning how to join two sentences together using words like and, but, so, and or. Students practised writing more detailed and interesting sentences using these new skills.

A highlight of our week was the Brickworks incursion! Students became engineers for the day by designing and building mini survival shelters with Lego. Their shelters were put to the test, needing to survive powerful ‘hurricanes’ and heavy ‘rain’. It was a fantastic opportunity to apply problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Reminders

  • Our library is open! Please ensure your child has there library book on their day.
  • Whilst Pokemon cards are a lot of fun, we are asking that these cards only be bought to school on a Friday when Pokémon club is on.
  • We are asking for students to leave small toys at home as some of the toys that have recently been brought to school are going missing which of course brings great disappointment.
  • Students are growing and at times very hungry! They are encouraged to bring some fruit/vegetables to have during a fruit break mid-morning.
