Principal's Report
With just two weeks remaining in the term, our school is buzzing with excitement and activity! Students across all year levels have been involved in a range of engaging learning experiences, and we are proud of the enthusiasm and positivity they continue to show as we near the end of Semester 1.
Recently, our Foundation students had a wonderful time visiting Animal Land, where they explored and interacted with a variety of animals – a fantastic hands-on experience that complements their classroom learning. Our Year 5 students also enjoyed an enriching excursion to the Melbourne Zoo, learning about animal habitats, and adaptations.
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce our Year 3-6 Athletics Day, taking place on Tuesday 1st July. Events will be held across Haines Drive Reserve and within the school grounds. Students are encouraged to wear their house colours on the day to show their team spirit and support their peers in what promises to be a fun and energetic day of sport!
Meanwhile, teachers are working diligently behind the scenes to finalise Semester 1 student reports, which will be made available to families in the final week of term. These reports offer valuable insights into your child’s learning progress and achievements so far this year. In early Term 3, there will also be opportunities to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss their progress in more detail. We strongly encourage families to take advantage of this chance to connect and reflect on your child’s journey so far.
We would also like to remind you about the P&F coordinated ‘Billy G Cookie Dough’ fundraiser. Information regarding this initiative has gone home with all students today. We hope you can support our Parents & Friends– and in turn, our school – by participating in this fun and tasty fundraiser. A big thank you to the P&F for their fantastic work in coordinating the event!
A reminder that CSEF (Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund) applications close at the end of this term. If you believe you may be eligible for this funding, we encourage you to come into the school office as soon as possible to complete the necessary paperwork. These funds are a valuable support to families in covering the cost of educational programs and experiences.
Finally, a note about 2025 Voluntary Financial Contributions – these remain open. These contributions help the school to provide essential resources such as digital devices, engaging learning programs, and classroom materials for all students. Thank you to those families who have already made a contribution this year – your support is deeply appreciated.
As always, thank you for your continued partnership and support. Let’s make the final fortnight of Term 2 a great one!
