Numeracy

We are currently focusing on developing skip counting skills in the classroom, through our daily fluency tasks.

Skip counting (counting by 2s, 5s, 10s, etc.) is a foundational mathematical skill that helps students develop number sense, identify patterns, and prepare for more advanced concepts such as multiplication and division. It also supports mental math strategies and helps children become more confident with number sequences and problem-solving.

With regular practice, skip counting becomes automatic and greatly improves a child’s overall math fluency.

It has been great to see how many students have taken up the challenge to practice their skip counting at home.
