Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Knowledge Society

Following on from our Professional Learning Day, we are sharing some changes in processes with you all that are designed to enhance our behaviour curriculum here at Our Lady's. Firstly, we have introduced new routines to our school to enhance the calm feel of our environment. So far, we have introduced;

  • Entry Routines
  • Cue to Start
  • Exit Routines

These routines are explicitly taught, used by all teachers in our school and are designed to create a calm, organised environment. The children have embraced these changes and understand the new expectations.

As a staff, we have also introduced the above following school rules. These rules sit beside our school wide expectations and help guide acceptable behaviour at our school. Moving into Term 3, if a child in our school breaks one of our rules, parents will receive an email communication from the classroom teacher, specialist teacher or leadership team member to state the rule what has been broken. As a school staff, we will apply an appropriate consequence within our environment but would appreciate the support at home by discussing the rules with your child at home, each time you receive a notification from us.

 You will receive notifications from us in the case of;

  • physical contact
  • disrupting the learning environment
  • not respecting staff
  • not following instructions

We will not be sending a notification for every minor behaviour that occurs, it will be for our more serious incidents. We appreciate your support moving forward.

Reports

At the end of the week, we will be sending home Semester 1 Reports. Please take the time to sit and read these documents and discuss the contents with your child. Parent/Teacher Interviews will be held early in Term 3 - please book online or call the office to make an appointment.

Auskick

Don't forget - AusKick returns this afternoon at Our Lady's! Please be on time to pick up your child at the end of the session (4.30pm). Please enter via the carpark gate.

2026 Enrolments

Foundation enrolments for 2026 have now opened - if you have a sibling attending Our Lady's in 2026, now is the time to act. If you would like to book a tour of the school with your child, please pop into the office to organise a time.

Now is also the time to promote our beautiful school within our community. Many thanks to the parents for sending tours our way! We would love to grow our community.

Parking Reminder - White Street

Just a reminder for our parent/s & carer/s who are picking up children at White Street. We have been made aware that sometimes our parents are blocking the driveways of the residents. Please ensure you are parking respectfully to ensure no impact occurs to our neighbours. If you are turning in off Murdoch Road, please avoid using a personal residence driveway to turn around or park in. Children crossing at White Street need to be accompanied by an adult.

Advisory School Council

Our Lady's is seeking to re-establish our Advisory School Council. The Advisory Council serves as a consultative and advisory group for the Principal in order to inform and gain feedback from the broader school community. Members of the Advisory Council;

  • actively support, in collaboration with the local parish, the Vison and Catholic Identity of our school
  • provide parental and local community input into strategic planning, school improvement, child safeguarding practices and school review
  • support the Principal in meeting their accountabilities for educational outcomes, effective stewardship of resources and annual reporting
  • actively support the Principal in the encouragement of parent/carer engagement
  • provide a means by which the CESL Executive (and thereby the CESL Board) can dialogue with and hear from school community members

Nominations are currently being invited from the community. Nominations (which can be self-nominations) should be in writing and delivered to myself directly. This can be done via email.

Annual Report to School Community

The 2024 Annual Report to School Community has been completed. This report outlines our achievements for the 2024 school year. If you would like to read this report, it can be found on our website or in hard copy in the office. A copy has also been attached below.

Blessings,

Cassie
